- 1 (10.5 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 (5 ounce) cans tuna in water, drained
- 1 cup frozen peas
- 2 cups cooked egg noodles
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese, divided
- 1/2 cup crushed potato chips (for topping)
- Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly grease an 8×8 inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the cream of mushroom soup, milk, water, onion powder, and black pepper until smooth.
- Stir in the drained tuna, frozen peas, cooked egg noodles, and 3/4 cup of the shredded cheddar cheese. Mix gently until everything is combined.
- Pour the mixture into your prepared baking dish.
- Sprinkle the remaining 1/4 cup of cheddar cheese evenly over the top.
- Bake for 20 minutes.
- Remove the casserole from the oven and sprinkle the crushed potato chips over the top.
- Return to the oven and bake for another 5 to 7 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the casserole is bubbly.
- Let the casserole cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- You can substitute cream of celery soup for cream of mushroom soup if you prefer a different flavor base.
- For extra flavor, add 1/4 cup of chopped celery when mixing the ingredients.
- If you do not have potato chips, use 1/2 cup of dry breadcrumbs mixed with 1 tablespoon of melted butter for the topping.
