Grilled lemon herb tuna steaks are a simple, healthy, and quick meal. This recipe ensures a bright, summery flavor without drying out the fish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 (6 ounce) tuna steaks, 1-inch thick
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh dill
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Pat tuna steaks dry with paper towels.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together olive oil, lemon juice, parsley, dill, oregano, salt, and pepper.
  3. Place tuna steaks in a shallow dish. Pour marinade over tuna, turning to coat.
  4. Cover and refrigerate for 15-30 minutes. Do not marinate longer than 30 minutes, or tuna may become mushy.
  5. Preheat grill to medium-high heat (about 400-450°F or 200-230°C). Lightly oil grill grates.
  6. Remove tuna from marinade, discarding any remaining marinade.
  7. Grill tuna for 2-4 minutes per side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness. Tuna should be opaque on the outside with a slightly pink center.
  8. Remove from grill and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use fresh, high-quality tuna steaks for the best flavor and texture.
  • Adjust grilling time based on thickness of tuna and desired doneness.
  • A meat thermometer inserted into the thickest part of the steak should read 125°F (52°C) for medium-rare.
  • Serve with a side of grilled vegetables or a light salad.
