A basic, flavorful marinade suitable for grilling or baking pork chops.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce (low sodium option if preferred)
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, olive oil, apple cider vinegar, Dijon mustard, minced garlic, oregano, and pepper until combined.
  2. Place four pork chops in a large zip-top bag or shallow dish.
  3. Pour the marinade over the pork chops, ensuring they are fully coated.
  4. Seal the bag or cover the dish.
  5. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or up to 8 hours for deeper flavor.
  6. Remove pork chops from the marinade, discard the remaining liquid, and cook using your preferred method (grill or oven).

Notes

  • For a citrus-garlic flavor, substitute the apple cider vinegar with fresh lemon juice.
  • For a honey-mustard variation, add 2 tablespoons of honey to the base recipe.
  • If you plan to cook the next day, an overnight marinade works well.
