  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika

Instructions

  1. Place sliced onions in the bottom of your slow cooker.
  2. Place the beef brisket on top of the onions.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together beef broth, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, black pepper, and paprika.
  4. Pour the sauce mixture over the brisket.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours or on high for 4-5 hours, until the brisket is tender.
  6. Remove brisket from the slow cooker and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing against the grain.
  7. Serve with the cooking juices.

Notes

  • For an extra layer of flavor, you can add a bay leaf to the cooking liquid.
  • If you prefer a thicker sauce, remove the brisket and vegetables, and simmer the liquid on the stovetop until reduced.
